1st Annual State School Overnight Informational

Access Opportunity and Target OxBridge collaborate to present the 1st Annual State School Overnight Informational, held Friday 07 April through Sunday 09 April 2016. Cvic Innocent participated as a panel discussion member and a break-out biology session organizer for the weekend.

Geared towards encouraging the interest of underrepresented minorities attending UK state schools Target OxBridge: Residential is a 3-day on-campus event where Year 12 students are introduced to life at Oxford, as well as life post-Oxford - direct from those currently enrolled. Participants stay in St Edmund Hall, taking part in academic workshops and lectures led by Oxford tutors and research staff. Campus-wide tours (laboratories and libraries abound) pave avenues for future Oxbridge candidates to meet college alumni and hear about careers after cap and gown.

The event is run by the Undergraduate Admissions and Outreach office in partnership with Target Oxbridge, a programme run by diversity recruitment firm Rare which aims to help students with African and Caribbean heritage increase their chances of getting into the Universities of Oxford or Cambridge.
